I recently had an opportunity to do the Walkabout audit using the Tendable app. It directly engaged me with the ward staff because I had to fill in answers in real-time within a short time. The clear app categories for grouping questions were easy to navigate, and helped me to understand how it related to standards. The debrief post-audit showed side-by-side comparisons of ward performance. This was inspiring because you could see wards progressively improving becoming model wards over time, and critically it was a moving visible marker for how we are improving patient safety to a high standard. It’s the best 360 method I’ve seen for transforming what we do by putting patients at the heart of what we do.
