Why are delay-related harm audits important?

According to a study done by Royal College of Emergency Medicine, the data is clear, delays to care and long waits to admission to hospital equate to an increased risk to patient harm and death, even after leaving an emergency department.

Delay-related harm isn't isolated to just at-risk demographic. In a recent study by RCEM, an increase in delays resulted into an increase in all-cause 30-day mortality, adjusted for age and co-morbidity. Dr Adrian Boyle, President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, states "we believe that being honest with the data will be a service to patients and staff. It will lead to a better understanding of patient flow and to both transformation and change in the emergency care system."

Our solution can provide your organisation with the tools to
maintain a high standard of quality care during periods of increasing demand, empower staff and assess clinical risks whilst improving overall patient experience.

What does a delay-related harm solution consist of?

This audit programme that prioritises the identification and mitigation of delay-related harm. To work in real-time and provide continuous quality improvement. This standard audit set aims to elevate patient care processes, reduce risks and enhance visibility of potential harm.

This audit ensures that a comprehensive assessment of the patient's environment, privacy, safety, and comfort is recorded. Each question set aims to provide quality assurance as well as quality improvement, such as patient-centred care, FALLs prevention, enhanced privacy, transparent communication and continuous quality improvement.
